Helsinki experience

I started my summerholidays - best way is to do it with Berlingo. So Helsinki unofficial camping- not so bad place and view- with #MarttiServo& #napander music Marttiservonapander

Berlingo is now equiped with stove!

I did some serious compairing about real tandem cooksets with real gas. Got even small 5kg gastank, and went to great gas owens store in Vantaa #Kaasuvalo.

I told what I’m looking for and asked some help- well got help indeed- I should have different compartement for that kind of gastank etc- and my dear Berlingo shold be registered as a camper too(Finland)- its not, cos I’m using it as a normal car also. 

So I thanked him and started to think about having gas stove on my apartement- It can happen. Thank you Kaasuvalo.fi. I will be back.

Next plan is to go to Partioaitta and find something there. Partioaitta is outdoor gear shop famous to be favourite to Scouts (I was Scout several years in my child- and younghood).

I have now Trangia in the Berlingo, but I wanted to have something more effective (Need to have my coffee) and some style more for urban outdoorist and cowist, like I feel to be nowdays.

And I found it: Primus Onja Stove... 

So today I have just gathered some cooking ware and dreamed to go on the road again.

First contact!

Berlingo wanted to watch from the distance-

I dared to go closer.

Dared in deed...those cows were so big with great horns. 

They were curious, like finnish cows seems to be always(in Sweden, no way that social and curious ones) and the same minute we stopped, some of them started to come closer. Very close indeed. Huj. I was talking to them "that never mind me, just wanting to take some photos, never mind me...."

I wonder when the first angry farmer comes to me and says that "don’t you talk to my cows grazy woman"🙈.

"Umh sorry, I just trying to be and impress idea of an artist, kind of, grazy, well maybe."

This place was called #rajaharju and they are producing milk for #valio- called #valiomaitotila.

All the Valio farms has their own logo with this design:

Sundays are days to do some work for holidays

So tuning continues. 

Pinterest and ”berlingo camper” is good place to get some ideas for Sunday work.

For me it ment- nextlevel- bedlevel.

Happily I have a friend with all the handigraftgear and wood you can ever imagine. Just like at home in Rovaniemi- our summercottage and carage were places to do all the dreams come true. My father was great ”selfartist” ”ite-taiteilija”, he showed me the way to build,fix and make (tables, picnic places, garden, candleholders, boxes). And of course my studies at Rovaniemi Art and Craft College helpped me to learn more...

Just needed 80*155cm plywood, 30cm legs and one 60cm piece with hinge and bed is ready.

First sketchup- before flightvan- had idea about flipped table. Bed idea is there- however didin’t have three legs, 2 was enough. 

Bed is low enough to sit on it comfortably.  Berlingo has those roof windows, so there is space. 

And that 30 cm was just quick idea, it’s good hight- for tent, sleeping bags, under bed boxes, etc. 

And now I’m into curtains- velcro kind might be good choice... 

How it looks now

Gear for now-

Milking seat and decoration, old textiles, Bialetti, mirror ball(very important, airplane van(?).

So nice to just lay down and enjoy. 

Tuning Berlingo

Fixing Berlingo- 

Last year I had just pillow, mattress and some Ikea boxes. This summer it will be different. 

I know that I have to have 3 seats on Berlingo, so behind one back seat I can have some space for stuff. 

Got lovely change to use old airplane locker- but its too hig for Berlingo- 

So it took some time to think that through- I knew the Citroen and Berlingo is known to be easily to tune to your own purposes. So it was this time too- had to just remove Modutop locker and I had enough hight for airplane gear :).

Summer 2018 is here

Love to find myself alive and Berlingo still in mood to serve me.



Plan for this summer is to go at least some of these Alvar Aalto places https://visit.alvaraalto.fi/en/etusivu/

And maybe some roundtrip to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania.

During winter I made som upgrade for Berlingo equipment-Bialetti stovetop espresso maker. I`m so into coffee and Oatly IKaffe.
